Do you feel like food is your best friend one minute, comforting you through difficult times the way nothing else can, but your worst enemy the next, leaving you feeling alone and bad about yourself? I understand.

The secrecy and pain of struggling with a love-hate relationship with food is a desperate one. Do you often wake up in the morning vowing to be in control of your eating but go to bed feeling like a failure? Does a “good day” have a lot more to do with what you did or didn’t eat (or how much you were able to “get rid of” by purging in some way) than anything else? Counseling can help.

Most people have eaten too much or too little at some point, but when doing one or the other or both feels like something you cannot control to the point that it is affecting your ability to fully enjoy life, seeking counseling is a good option to consider.

Disordered eating isn’t about the food we eat or don’t eat. It’s about feelings.

What do you really want?

I help women who feel trapped in the painful binge-diet cycle learn to stop using food as a substitute for feeling their feelings. I can help you learn to enjoy eating what you are truly hungry for; find and maintain your normal weight without dieting or purging what you eat through restricting, laxatives, vomiting, and/or exercise; heal old hurts and process daily emotional difficulties without turning to food; and live a life in which you do not feel controlled by food and are able to discover what it is you are really wanting.

I would love to hear your story.
